Doctor Who achieved a consolidated rating of over seven million and was the second most watched programme of the night, trailing The X Factor but beating The Chase. The episode scored a strong audience appreciation index of 82.
> Concurrent with the broadcast of Listen on BBC One, viewers of BBC Two Scotland tuned to Proms in the Park live from Glasgow Green could have enjoyed a rendition of Ron Grainer’s Doctor Who theme by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Stephen Bell and illustrated by a montage of clips including moments from Deep Breath and Into the Dalek.
