Dolls House and Miniature Scene  |  October 2015 (Iss 257)
You may remember in our June issue we interviewed Eleanor Stevens of In Wonderland Miniatures. Eleanor had just invested in a micro wood lathe and took time out to tell us how she was getting on it, what chisels she was using to compliment the lathe and how the occasional mishap reassured her that she is only human. Well as you’ve probably heard countless times, practice makes perfect and it’s true as Eleanor’s submitted her first project to DHMS.
Working with her micro-lathe she’s used a mahogany bobbin blank to create a Victorian bed post. Her project can be found on page 17.
With Halloween only a few weeks away, Jane Kubiesa investigates the paranormal and all things that go bump in the night, Bea Broadwood explains how all of her best ideas come via her sketchpad and introduces us
to Raven’s Perch, a beautiful 1/48th piece which launches at Miniatura, and we’ve included a selection of spooky images on our cut outs page.
And don’t forget to enter our fantastic competition on page 57 where you could win a gorgeous glazed display cabinet plus tickets to the Edinburgh Fair in November.
