In this issue of Drama & Theatre, we meet the academics and theatremakers at the helm of Rose Bruford’s first-of-its-kind Masters programme in Queer Performance, and we go behind the scenes of Les Enfants Terribles’ new production of The House With Chicken Legs, its first ever book adaptation. Ockham’s Razor lift the lid on its new physical theatre spectacular Tess, a feminist retelling of Thomas Hardy’s tragic novel Tess of the d’Urbervilles. We also chat to the team at the University of Birmingham and the RSC who are joining forces to create a programme to teach the works of Shakespeare to deaf students. Continuing on with the Shakespearean theme, we explain how we can introduce classes to Shakespeare through soundscapes for a more dynamic and varied teaching approach.
