As we went to print there wasn’t any official numbers or data on the RS 660 as it was yet to be homologated, but my god, from what we know so far it seems pretty tasty.
And what do we know? Well, the RS 660 isn’t really a little RSV4; it’s not aimed at going up against the R6 or the ZX-6R, but has been developed as more of a road-focused sports bike; so slightly closer to say, Honda’s CBR650R – although it will be sportier and have lower bars, which is nice.
Even though it’s aiming at 650cc segment it’s a seriously premium product; Aprilia have teased us by saying it will make around the 100 horsepower mark, and will weigh about 170kg. It has a monstrous suite of electronic aids that are kept in check by a 6-axis IMU, somewhat similar to what you’d find on their range-topping RSV4, alongside a quality chassis and swingarm set up.
