Despite the lockdown I’ve been pretty busy and just about finished all my bike restorations. My three RGS00s are mint and running; my FZ is mint; and my YDS3, my first ever road bike, is all ready to ride.
One of the houses that I rent out has needed a bit of work too, so I’ve been doing the Bob the Builder act the past few weeks - well, I say Bob the Builder, really I’ve just been sweeping up, making cups of tea and paying people a lot of money to do the real technical stuff. In some respects, life has been pretty idyllic for us during this time, especially with this nice weather we are having; apart from the fact that my wife can’t stand the sight of me any more as I'd have normally been over to the North West 200 by now and probably be on the Isle of Man at the moment. Were any of you lot planning on going over to watch the TT? It’s such a shame it’s not going ahead this year; I know it’s a highlight of the year for plenty of race fans and competitors alike. It must be financially difficult for a lot of the teams and riders; no doubt a lot of them will have spent a fortune on new bikes, parts, kit and infrastructure at the start of the season, for it all to be stood idly in a warehouse somewhere - let’s hope they all have very understanding sponsors.
