Is #ricottatoast the new #avotoast? It’s the latest food trend to go viral, and unlike so many other TikTok favourites (hello, pancake cereal), this one gets our healthy seal of approval.
Like most cheeses, ricotta is a good source of calcium, and contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids – so it’s good for your bones, brain and heart. Plus it contains selenium (which protects against free radicals) and is a good source of protein. Ricotta toast works well for breakfast or indeed any time, and suits both sweet and savoury toppings (boost your fruit count by teaming it with tomatoes, berries or peaches).
