The November issue of Horse&Rider is out now!
This issue we have the last part of our training series with eventing golden girl, record-breaker and -setter – and soon to be second-time mum – Ros Canter. Her incredible success belies her simple, straightforward training ethos, which makes her all the more inspiring. Meanwhile, resident equine behaviourist Anna Haines is back this issue with a fascinating insight into how to boost your horse’s confidence, and the benefits it can have for you, as well as your horse. It’s a must read, so pick up your copy to get started.

The sudden shift in weather last month caught many of us off-guard, but it’s definitely time to dust off those autumn jumpers, coats and rugs. If you’re anything like Editor Louise, you’ll have looked at a favourite (ancient) item of clothing and realise that no, it really isn’t going to last another season. Not to worry, though – Assistant Editor Sarah has been hard at work rounding up the best options for all the essential autumn/winter kit you need, with options for every budget and style. Our 36-page gear guide is free with this issue, so grab a cup of tea and have a browse.
Recently, liberty has been the talk of the H&R office. We all enjoy watching demonstrations by the well-known names – Ben Atkinson, Jean-François Pignon. But finding out just how widely applicable, accessible and, most importantly, fun it can be has left us feeling inspired. This is the last (for now) in our ‘why not try’ series, exploring alternative or less well-known equine sports, and Sub-Editor Halima has thoroughly enjoyed expanding her knowledge. The common thread, talking to a range of enthusiasts, has been just how much joy there is to be had – in all sorts of ways – with your horse. And if that’s not a great motivator as we head into the darker months, we don’t know what is.

UK's top equestrian Mag

UK's best-selling equestrian monthly Beoordeeld op 13 augustus 2020

Best horse mag ever

Just bought some back issues and a subscription. Used to buy it from the feed barn. Really like the way I can access the old issues whenever I like, and it is so quick to open. And this is the best all round read for me. Beoordeeld op 16 juli 2013

V Quick to download and great quality.

I love this mag and when I got an iPad for christmas thought I would try the digital version. I downloaded the sample for free, no problems. and now I get it sent to my iPad every month. bliss! Beoordeeld op 26 februari 2013
