Mane and tail detanglers
Beautiful, flowing manes and tails in no time at all
Don’t spend hours trying to tame an unruly mane or tail this winter – an effective detangler could be just the shortcut you need to slice your beautifying time in half. As an essential part of any grooming kit, H&R’s trusty team of testers has put a selection of mane and tail detangling sprays to the test so you don’t have to. Used on equines of all types – from sleek sports horses who were stabled part-time to those hardy winter warriors who are most at home wallowing in mud – lets see which products stood up to the test.

TOP TIP
Got a horse who struggles with rug rubs? Lightly spray detangler on problem areas, such as his shoulders, to help his rug more easily glide over them.
TOP TIP
The price per 100ml is the cheapest possible option, often achieved by buying a large container or refill rather than the smallest spray bottle. If this is the case for your favourite product, why not buddy up with some fellow liveries and split the bill?
Hy Equestrian Magic Finish £9.99 for 500ml

We say...
Easy to use with a no-leak locking mechanism. Produced a fine mist that was great for sensitive types and gave even coverage. A little went a long way and the mist action meant you never used more than you’d need. Didn’t leave the hair too slippery, although there was a slight stickiness after use.
