You’d think using PDFs would be easy and straightforward by now. Nope.
Fire them all!
I’m writing in about Nick Peers’ article, which appeared in LXF283, December 2021. He discussed PDF editing and mentions opening a PDF using the document viewer Evince.
Unfortunately, Evince will not always display a PDF correctly. PDFs generated using Microsoft Office Word (I presume that was the program which Nick used) aren’t always displayed correctly.
Master PDF Editor does display any PDFs correctly and if opened in LibreOffice Draw and then exported, the file will now display correctly in Evince.
As for filling in forms, Master PDF Editor can do it but it’ll usually be easier using LibreOffice Draw and there will be no watermark.
