The Contacts app is something of an unsung hero in macOS. At its simplest, it’s a database of people, companies and organisations with whom you communicate. However, there’s a great deal more to it than that. Of course, it syncs via iCloud with all the Apple devices connected to your Apple ID. So any contact you add on any device is available on all of them.
