Podman is a relatively new product, and is still undergoing rapid development—both the desktop app and underlying engine were updated as we were writing this feature.
Because it’s a child of Red Hat Linux, development is focused primarily on Linux (and Fedora/Red Hat Linux), which shows in how the project is developed for Windows.
The need to use an underlying WSL instance creates unique problems— we’ve covered the two major issues (automatic container restarting and remote network access) here, but you’re likely to run into other problems too.
