For a long time, I have ignored the new generation of US Army trucks, being drawn more to those older Cold War beasts with at least three axles, which just seemed more American. In 1996 the first of the FMTV ((Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles) trucks were delivered to the 82nd Airborne Division. I remember at the time finding it difficult to get used to the new design. Over the years, my view of things has changed, and i must admit that since the version with the armoured driver’s cab appears, it seems more like a typical US truck with all the rough edges.
