You can expect a little pincushion distortion from super-telephoto lenses and, sure enough, that’s the case with all of the lenses in this group. The Tamron 150-600mm gives most distortion at its shortest zoom setting, whereas the Nikon Z 100-400mm is worst at mid to long focal lengths. Technically, three of the Nikon lenses show most distortion in the middle section of the zoom range. Even so, in-camera correction is available in all recent Nikons, and is particularly effective in Z-system cameras at taking distortion out of the equation.
