A FIRST-YEAR mechanical engineering apprentice at Rio Tinto has been named Inverness College student of the year.
Aaron Hartley, who has been employed at the smelter in Fort William for 11 months, was presented with the award at the end of his 38-week course.
He received his certificate at the recent college prizegiving and was also congratulated on his return to the Lochaber smelter by owner and maintenance superintendent Ian Love.
