Police in the Highlands have reported increased detection rates and significant reductions in crime that affects local communities – in particular violent crime, with more than 230 fewer victims year on year.
Key reductions have also been recorded in acquisitive crime, while off cers have also been focused on improving safety on the roads. significant efforts have been made in reducing serious levels of violence, with a 7.4 per cent reduction in serious assault and a nine per cent reduction in common assault.
During the same period, the number of robberies has dropped by 18, a reduction of 50 per cent, while there have been 338 fewer incidents of disorder, a reduction of 10 per cent.
