A few weeks ago I gave a talk to a group of fl oristry students struggling to make sense of their digital cameras. After chatting to them individually it came to light that the main problem was a lack of confidence. Some feared that they would damage their equipment if they tried to experiment; others were concerned that by switching the mode dial off Auto they would never be able to go back to that safe little green square. However, as each student voiced his/her concerns, the rest of the class was instantly comforted. Proof, if any were needed, that a problem shared is a problem halved.
