Patchwork and Quilting  |  September 2014
We have some great projects to inspire you this month. The Heirloom Quilt has been designed by Lynne Edwards and was inspired by a charity shop find. It will run over several issues and we have several alternate colourways to show you how different colour choices work. Dreamin’ Vintage is a quick quilt made using fabrics inspired by bed linens from the 50s and 60s. If you have always been tempted to make a miniature quilt, the Cherry Tree Miniature is a great introduction to this type of quilting. Talking of heirloom quilts, we have the story behind the book about the 1718 Coverlet, a quilt in the Quilters’ Guild collection, we also have a review of the exhibition curated by Tracy Chevalier, Things we do in Bed. Continuing our historical theme, we have an introduction to the history of Feed Sack Quilts and bringing us more up to date we Meet Beth Studley, a new and exciting British fabric designer.
