As with distortion, current and recent EOS cameras offer automatic in-camera Correction for lateral chromatic aberration, which is worst towards the edges and corners of the image frame. This graph shows the severity of the aberration at the edges of the frame, both for prime lenses and for zooms at their shortest focal lengths, with in-camera correction switched off. The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM wins out for minimising colour fringing.
