Duplicate your layer and apply Unsharp Mask to the duplicate, then go to Select > Subject and click the Mask icon in the Layers Panel to restrict sharpening to your subject.
Why not use AI-powered selection tools to zero in on your subject before sharpening? In Photoshop, try using Select > Subject, then use the Unsharp Mask or Smart Sharpen to boost the subject. In Camera Raw or Lightroom, use the Select Subject Mask, then increase the Sharpness slider to crisp up the area.
