STEVE HACKETT
The band light up the Palladium.
WILL IRELAND
Athought strikes Prog midway through tonight’s exemplary gig. Were you to follow the twisted thought processes of the internet’s bedwetters and grumbleweeds, at least half of this show would be dismissed as irrelevant by the prog scene’s current Council Of Cancel simply due to the fact that half the songs performed originate from the post-Gabriel era of Genesis, and therefore aren’t fit to hold a candle to their far more worthy predecessors.
Fortunately, the silent majority, many of whom are filling a largely full Palladium auditorium (a few empty seats are noticeable where, one assumes, the Covid-cautious have decided against attending), care not for such nonsense and are as delighted to see Hackett and his band as Hackett and his band are to see them and be back on stage performing.
