A SECOND phase of planned upgrade work took place on the Lymington branch in Hampshire, during a two-week closure, scheduled to last from December 22 to January 6.
It saw Network Rail engineers return to the 5.6 mile long, single line route, after replacing nearly a mile of track during an earlier programme of work, last October. Their focus this time was the strengthening of Lymington Viaduct across the Lymington River, between Town and Pier stations.
