GRESLEY PROGRESS
Early November saw yellow lining applied to one end of Gresley Tourist Third Open No. 60505, based at the Stainmore Railway Company’s Kirkby Stephen East site. The work was undertaken while waiting foranother batch ofvarnish to be deliveredfor the project. No.60505 is seen on November 3, after shunting to provide access to other vehicles also provided a chance to photograph the progress.Internally,restoration of the saloon is virtually finished. Work on the toilet and saloon doors and completion of the battery boxes,lining and varnishing are tasks outstanding. SRC hopes it will be in traffic for its Stockton &Darlington Railway 200th anniversary gala in August.
