The big Dutchman is making waves
Stef Broenink was one of the big surprises during the World Cup in Lucerne. The Dutch single sculler finished in fourth place, pushing bronze medalist Angel Fournier Rodriguez from Cuba to his limits. But who is this 25-year old that took the single sculling world by storm overnight? And more importantly: is he made of the right stuff?
“I don’t see why a Dutchmen couldn’t be a top single sculler”, says Broenink, when asked about his chances. “If it were up to me, I’d like to see how far I can go.”
