Do you have any mementoes on your desk?
There are more knick-knacks than desk. There’s an autographed Willie McCovey baseball, a Mystery Science Theater mug jammed full of pens and screwdrivers, and a bronze Etruscan duck, a gift from my US publisher’s late mom. I also have a wedding photo, plus Donald Wollheim’s letter purchasing my first book, and a letter from Vivian Stanshall (of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band) inviting me to visit him on his houseboat during my first trip to England in 1982. I could go on and on.
