FONDLY REMEMBERED BY MANY as a blood-curding shocker, the original 1984 big-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s novella “Children Of The Corn” featured a memorably chilling opening, where children unleash a murderous kinder surprise upon unsuspecting adult customers in a café. Despite the remainder of the film largely leaving critics lukewarm, this anti-adult horror tale was financially successful enough to spawn a staggering, if increasingly dull, eight-sequel series (plus the obligatory remake).
“Paw! Those durn kids are on the car again!”
