AUGUST’S MYSTERY
The August mystery ship is Covadonga from the Spanish Line Bilbao, also known as Compañía Trasatlántica Española (CTE). Built by Cia Euskalduna at Bilbao in 1951 as Monasterio de la Robin, she was completed in May 1953, when she was renamed Covadonga. The picture shows her maiden voyage to London for the crowning of Queen Elizabeth II. Her first journey in regular service was on 27 August 1953.
