#22 FUJIFILM INSTAX MINI EVO
The Mini Evo doesn’t just have the retro cool dialled right in, though it still has that in spades. It’s as much a creative powerhouse as an instant camera can be. Admittedly much of that is done in software, this being an odd hybrid of instant and digital cameras – there’s no viewfinder, but at least the fact that you can be selective with your shots means you won’t spend through your nose on blurry prints.

#23 DIRT YWAVE M8
Although it might seem like a niche device, the overwhelming popularity of the Dirtywave M8 proves that its old-school tracker and intuitive controls have a lot of appeal. This is the functional equivalent of carrying a more-powerful Commodore Amiga around in your pocket; not only can you trigger samples to your heart’s content, but there are layers of modern effects to help you create sonic masterpieces on the go.
