Choose whether to link the fires or let the world go dark in Dark Souls: The Roleplaying Game from Steamforged Games. We get your questions about the choice to use the Dungeons & Dragon Fifth Edition engine, and discuss how it’s all going to work as a roleplaying game with Richard August, the game’s designer. Order issue 64 now to find out the answers.

Plus, our MUST-PLAY review of The One Ring from Free League. Adventuring in Middle-earth has never been so cast in shadows. Find out why we think you’ll not want to miss out on this adventure.

“A rabbi, a golem and a student walk into a bar…” – or nearly anyway. We talk to the designers of Golem, the big hit of Essen, and discover what the magic words are that keep it moving.

And we check in on Blazon, a game about heraldry that you didn’t know you wanted, until now. This might be the only game where you end up with a coat of arms at the end.

Here’s what else is in the issue:

• THE ONE RING REVIEW: OUR MUST-PLAY VERDICT – We discover
• DARK SOULS: THE ROLEPLAYING GAME – We head to Lothric with Steamforged Games to find out how the new Dark Souls RPG is going to work on our tabletops. Plus, we get your questions about the Fifth Edition adaptation answered.
• GAMING PODCAST GUIDE – Our top picks to keep your ears filled with gaming goodness (you know, for when you can’t read the magazine).
• HARRY POTTER RPG DIY GUIDE – Want to have a wizarding school based good time on the tabletop? We give you the tools to run your own Harry Potter themed roleplaying session, and give you a chance to find out which roleplaying system house you’ll be put into.
• TRICK OR TREAT STUDIOS – It’s masks off with Trick Or Treat Studio’s move from spooky rubber masks, to horror movie themed games.
• MOONSTONE PAINTING GUIDE – we tackle the weird goblins and grubs of the Brian Froud (of Dark Crystal fame) inspired game.
• PLUS 26 GAMES REVIEWED

Whilst the best games series are useful, they include a number of games that were rated as average or even poor. Beoordeeld op 24 oktober 2020

Waste of 6$ - if you're here for painting tips.

Bought this for the Dungeon Depths terrain guide; the site makes it look like it'll be a step by step to really making these pop, but it turns out to be barely 4 pages of 3 or 4 progression images and barely a sentence of guide for each. Not only this, but there's barely a discussion of most of the terrain, getting the OSL shown on the main pic, or really anything else.

Gave it a 3 cuz it'd be unfair to give it a 1 since I only cared about the painting bits.

Fantastic magazine

There are so few good tabletop gaming magazines being published today, which is strange, considering the resurgence in traditional gaming. Aside from the 3 popular miniature war gaming magazines, there's a serious lack of magazine style content for serious board gamers. So it was with much anticipation that I looked forward to the publication of Tabletop Gaming last year, which promised broad coverage of ALL types of tabletop games (board, card, minis games). It has not disappointed. Besides lavish visuals, the magazine offers dozens of quick-hitting game reviews, combined with some in-depth interviews of companies and game designers, and features on hot games. It's a fun read and highly recommended. I've just re-upped my subscription for another year. Keep up the good work guys! Beoordeeld op 06 juni 2016
