Monsters lurk at the heart of every man, and in most houses, private libraries and bodies of water in the Call of Cthulhu universe. With the release of Malleus Monstrorum – a huge two volume compendium of monsters, interdimensional alien beings and a smattering of cultists – as well as an exclusive scenario in the magazine, we thought it was time to check in with Mike Mason for some advice about how many tentacles is too many.
Mason is the creative director of Call of Cthulhu, the dark, guiding hand behind the game. We spoke to him as part of our Virtual Tabletop Gaming Live event and asked for his advice on how to get the most out of the monsters you’re stalking your players with.
