When did you realise your demos were the sound you were looking for?
It was three or four in the morning. I’d just recorded a take of “Garden”. I took a walk to a park near my house to clear my head and gave it a few listens. It felt like the song didn’t need anything else. It was exciting to think I could make the whole record at home, in this little plywood shack, around two ultra-budget condensers. After that, it was full steam ahead.
