Three more pivotal records from Lanegan’s mighty discography
Whiskey For The Holy Ghost
STEVEGULLICK
1994, SUB POP
Lanegan’s solo second, stuffed with imagery inspired by the writing of Van Morrison and Cormac McCarthy, edges away from the country blues of his debut. All things are relative but, with its leaping violin motifs, “Carnival” brings light to the gloom. 7/10
