Every now and then a story comes along that really puts a smile on our faces. And that is exactly what happened when we received an email from Claire Woolley from Goodheart Animal Sanctuaries in Worcestershire, telling us the tale of Reg the ram.
A brave and gutsy ram was on his way to the slaughter house on a farmer’s lorry, when he made a break for freedom. He escaped his doom, and was spotted by a local man who saw him running down the road, stopping traffic. The man managed to coax him into the grounds of Chandlings Prep School in Oxfordshire. The little ram was kept safe overnight by grounds manager, Rob Maskrey, before being moved into one of the paddocks on the school premises.
