First across the line, Martin Rump, was confirmed as the Junior MAX champion at a later date and believes the win gave his career a real boost
“I had my first ever race in 2005 in the Micro MAX class, following it up with a national title in 2006. At first, I raced in local championships in Estonia and the Baltics. The 2009 Rotax Grand Finals was my first ever race outside of the Baltic region – quite the shock since I’d never seen that many go karts on track at the same time! The following season was a steep learning curve for me in the Rotax Euro series. While I knew I had the pace, I had little international experience and needed to put it together for a result. Then came the RMCGF in La Conca, 2010. When I got that P1 in qualifying, I realised that my dreams of winning a big race could finally come true – and they did! This gave my racing career a good push indeed. Since then, I’ve progressed through the ranks of junior formula series’ around the world, and experienced GT and prototype racing. With bigger races to come and even bigger dreams to fulfil, I’ve made a list of my racing highlights thus far.”
