FIA KARTING EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP OK/OKJ

WELL STARTED...

In the OK, the Brazilian Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame), who took the lead in the provisional championship standings before the Final, is the man to beat. In the final, however, it was British driver Joe Turney (KR/Iame) who won. The same was true for the Juniors, with Belgian Ramaekers (VKR) surprisingly winning the final, ousting Sweden’s Kaczynski WORDS G. CIUCCI GIULIANI

RETHINKING KARTING: WORKS STARTED
Karting in Germany has to rethink the way things have been developing in recent years. But not only karting, motorsport on the whole has an altered interest in Germany. In the ‘90s and 2000s, Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel created hype. At times, more than 20 million viewers watched the Formula 1 races on German television; today it is less than 500,000. This development is unfortunately reflected in karting, along with the impact of strong international racing series’ in Europe, which realistically means that German karting now has to consider the way things have been developing over recent years. But in the end, it is not as bad as it sounds
24 HOURS ON THE EDGE
Winning a 24 Hours Karting is an extremely difficult sporting feat, reserved for a handful of teams in the international Endurance karting scene, but winning it for two consecutive years places the team in point of an almost historic achievement. We are talking about the Pomposa Dream Team, a crew composed of Giampaolo Quaquarelli, Michele Biffi, Gioele Bondi, Massimiliano Marchesini Massimiliano, Dino Masina, and Krzysztof Arkadiusz Severi who, after their victory in the 24 Hours Karting of Italy on the Castelletto track in 2022, this year repeated their success, writing their name for the 2nd time in the event’s roll of honor (held again on the Lombard track)
