Several areas in North are in need of better connectivity
UPGRADES TO ROADS in the North of England and the Midlands should be a priority for the Government, a new report has recommended.
The National Infrastructure Commission has revealed that just 22% of the current funding allocated to National Highways – worth £27.4 billion over five years – covers roads in those regions. The report says focusing on those areas would improve connectivity and trade across England – something that might be pulled into focus following the cancellation of part of the HS2 rail route to Manchester.
