Tomato juice counters Salmonella poisoning
Reach for the tomato juice if you have Salmonella poisoning. The juice is an unlikely antidote to the bacteria that can cause violent digestive reactions. It’s also effective against the deadly Typhi strain that causes typhoid fever, say researchers from Cornell University. Tomatoes could be just as effective as tomato juice, the researchers discovered when they tested them on samples of various Salmonella strains in the laboratory. Tomatoes and tomato juice killed the samples, including the deadly Typhi variety, in all the tests.
