Kenyan marathon runner Brigid is the new marathon world record-holder (mixed-sex race), with a time of 2:14:04 achieved in October 2019 at the Chicago Marathon. In this race she beat Paula Radcliffe’s 16-yearold record by over a minute – and her own PB by over four minutes. She has finished in the top two in eight of the nine marathons she has run in her career. In a very short time for an elite runner – just four years – she has taken over 33 minutes off her first marathon time. But it’s not only marathons she has excelled at.
