Many of us suffer from pain in our lower backs, which can often be exacerbated by the motion of running. So how can we protect this area, and prevent pain flaring up in the first place?
What/where is it?
Lower back pain, as the name suggests, is pain in the lower third of the spine, affecting the lumbar portion specifically. When back pain strikes, it can affect everything from walking to running to sleeping, and even the most basic of movements.
How does it occur?
There are loads of reasons, from acute trauma to the lower spine (a fall, for instance) to repetitive strain or lifestyle choices. The following culprits can really exacerbate any weakness in your lower back, or encourage it to flare up.
