“We have a favour to ask from race directors and event organisers. Can you help us at Black Trail Runners to encourage more black people to enjoy trail running? We believe the sport has a diversity problem, and worry that many black people are missing out on the physical and mental benefits of running and racing on trails.
“We created Black Trail Runners as a community and campaigning group to increase the inclusion, participation and representation of black people in trail running. Race directors and event organisers can help us to quantify the issue by collecting ethnicity information from runners as standard practice and we want to encourage runners, manufacturers and sponsors to join with us in asking for this change.”
