Consequence Forum
Consequence Forum presents readings, panels, and talks, and publishes visual art, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and translations online and in print which address ‘the human consequences and realities of war and geopolitical violence.’ Open to submissions up to 15 April, work will be considered for the print publication or the website. Submit fiction up to 5,000 words, flash, no more than 3 pieces or 1,000 words, and excerpts from longer works, no more than 5,000 words. Nonfiction in the form of interviews, reviews, essays, and narrative nonfiction should not exceed 4,000 words . For poetry submit one to five poems of any form. Payments vary.

Story Unlikely
Story Unlikely monthly magazine wants submissions which tell a good story, whether fiction or memoir. The team will consider outstanding story telling of up to 10,000 words in all genres, (fiction and nonfiction) as well as cross-genre and experimental work until 29 September and they run an annual contest during the months in between. Writers must sign up to receive the magazine. It’s free and submissions are not accepted from non-readers.
