This month I’ve chosen to look at a story that uses setting, and description of setting, in a very particular way. Mrs Manstey’s View by Edith Wharton tells the story of a woman whose circumstances are such that her whole world has been reduced to the view from her window. Because of this, the descriptions of the setting are key to our understanding and enjoyment of the story.
