A beautiful sunset on the ranch shows off Elizabeth’s riding skills, making us all wish we were there. The lovely landscape makes it easy to see why she loves her home so much, and how we can have a piece of it through her recipes!
The secret to a great meal
is found in the purpose for its creation. For Elizabeth Poett, author of
The Ranch Table,
food and community go hand in hand. As a seventh-generation cattle rancher growing up on Rancho San Julian in Santa Barbara, California, she learned about the value of a meal shared with loved ones. Her mother taught her that the most important thing when cooking was to make sure the people she fed were comfortable and happy.
“My goal is to make something delicious and to make the people I love feel appreciated. That’s what brings me joy. Food is how we celebrate, and it’s the time together—whether in a large group or around an intimate table—that really matters.”
