If you have an old school cubby or library file cabinet you picked up at the flea market, it would be a great place to display Putz houses, alongside vintage ornaments and other collectibles.

Miniature houses and villages are classic at Christmastime, and none more so than the Putz house. You can opt for the vintage variety, buy them new or even make them yourself. But whatever way you acquire them, you’re tapping into a rich history of German and American traditions.
A homemade version of the Putz house will work with any color scheme, like the one YouTuber and Instagrammer Dawn Newell of The Pink Tree made here in retro pastel colors. “I was so happy with how they turned out,” she says. They make great Christmas presents too. “I give a lot as Christmas gifts, and people really like them,” Dawn says.
