Among the highlights of the December 6 jewellery sale at Roseberys (23% buyer’s premium) – the maiden auction for new head of department Mark Bowis – was this novelty cat and mouse ring by Tiffany & Co. Made in the early 20th century, it is fashioned in gold and platinum as a cat chasing three mice, one in rose gold and each with a platinum tail.
It was modestly pitched at £500-800 but ran out the door for £5500.
