A rare early Worcester plate, c.1752, painted in Chinese famille verte style is offered by dealer Robyn Robb at A Collectors’ Paradise, the annual group selling show of pottery and porcelain in St James’s. Offered for £9500, it features a bird perched on a flowering prunus tree.
Running from June 28-July 5 at the Brian Haughton Gallery the show includes works offered by Haughton, Robb and Christophe Perlés of Paris. This is its third staging, coinciding with London Art Week and the other major London summer trade events.
On June 26- 27 the Haughton International Seminar is held at the British Academy in Carlton House Terrace. The theme this year is Great Collectors: Taste, Passion & Patronage and 15 speakers will address topics such as William Beckford, patron of Goldsmiths, and Fabergé at the Royal Collection.
