THERE are the beginnings of a distinct autumnal feel about the weather and, as the trees show signs of turning and the days grow shorter, winter is not too far away.

We can look forward to winter rain and storms, and with that comes the danger of Argyll’s vital artery, the A83, once again being cut due to landslides, or ‘debris flows’ on to the carriageway.
