AN ARGYLL-wide push to promote the Gaelic language will widen its use in everyday life, councillors hope.
More than 70 people, including representatives from the Scottish Government and Bord na Gaidhlig, attended last month’s Gaelic Gathering in Oban. Organised by Argyll and Bute Council, its aim is to begin strengthening cultural, educational and economic links in the region through the language.
Councillor Robin Currie, the council’s policy lead for community and culture, announced a virtual Gaelic forum will be developed to build on the momentum gathered from the day and share daily Gaelic goings-on in Argyll and Bute.
