Sunday August 7, The Lifeboat Competition. The last of our charity support opens drew fields of 20 gents and seven ladies on a morning beset by weather warnings for strong winds. Jamie Macpherson 5, 61 and lowest gross, 2. Markus Kroner 8, 62, 3. Stuart Paterson 11, 63, ACB, 4. Stewart McGregor 23, 63. There were Magic twos from Wolfi Kroner @11th, Alan Foggo and Stuart Paterson at 14th and Jamie Macpherson at 16th. There were also had nearest the pin prizes at 4th and 17th won by Stan Rainey and Pete Smith. These prizes were kindly donated by our friends from the Friars Tavern Golfing Society, Carlisle, who are regular and welcome visitors to Whiting Bay. They also made a generous donation to RNLI funds to augment the £54 raised by the competition. Our grateful thanks to them.
