The first meeting of the new season of the Shiskine SWI was held on Wednesday October 3 in Shiskine Hall when they took the opportunity to show how well they had done in the annual show in the summer.
George Grassie, who runs the Blackwaterfoot Bakehouse, came to talk to the members about ‘an old craft reborn’. George is passionate about his work and took time to explain to members about the ingredients he uses for his bread – ancient grains sourced from the UK, a sourdough culture and no chemicals.
George then treated us to a demonstration of his bread making skills which made the process look effortless.
