It seems to me that, if the ferry subsidy were to be reduced to, say £500,000, the remaining £250,000 could be spent on road improvements and the provision of adequate facilities for campervans.
Increased fares on the ferry might reduce the number of visitors and therefore the stress on infrastructure.
